Why is the link between the genesis creation account, especially the opening statements, and the book of Daniel so close?
Dan 2:21  He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
I think the revelation given to Daniel is of such importance that it bears the hallmarks of the creation account. Let's not forget that one of the key markers of the man of sin will be:-
Dan 7:25  He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

Here is the word for 'times' in Daniel 2:21

(Chaldee); from a root corresponding to that of H5708; a set time; technically a year: - time.

The man of sin cannot change that which is determinately fixed by the Almighty.

However, 'seasons' in 2:21 and 'times' in 7:25 are the same word:-

(Chaldee); from H2165; the same as H2165: - season, time.

So we can expect the man of sin to be keen to alter our calendar, I am guessing - probably hoping to doing away with any reference to the Saviour's first advent. It appears from the verse that he is not successful.
